Grapefruit Golden special

Grapefruit Golden Special is an improved New Zealand heirloom variety, celebrated for its unique flavor profile that is much sweeter and less tart than traditional grapefruits. This cultivar produces a heavy crop of juicy, thin-skinned, golden-yellow fruit with attractive orange flesh and very few seeds. The harvest time for this vigorous grower is from mid-winter through late spring. All citrus varieties are self-fertile, so a single tree will produce fruit. It exhibits good disease resistance and, once established, is frost tolerant, making it a robust choice. Ideal for fresh eating as a breakfast fruit, this variety also juices superbly and can be used for making marmalade.
